In ever increasingly connected smart cities this work looks towards understanding the key role of integrated networks within the communities and urban spacial environments. I will be bringing in current understandings of smart cities built-fabric posing them alongside the construction of Songdo in South Korea and then seeking conclusion on the social ideas of increasingly controversial controlling state and networks. To assist in the process theorists including Manuel Castell, Michael Curry and Johnathan Crary are introduced into the process.
